Eastside Girls Lead Throughout, Beat Tough Montclair 53-37

PATERSON, NJ – The Eastside girls basketball team once again made relatively easy work out of their opponents Saturday when they bested the visiting Mounties from Montlclair 53-37.

With 12 points each from Ronshanae Austin and Symiaha Brown-Cobb, not to mention the former’s 10 rebounds and latter’s six assists, the Ghosts jumped out to a 10-8 lead in the first quarter, building their lead each frame for the final victory.

Jianni Fontan scored 11 points on three-three pointers and two at the foul line while Precious Kitchens garnered eight points, eight rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal of her own.The Ghosts climbed to 9-2 while the Mounties, led by Morgan Marshalls’ 17 points and Ayanna Brantley’s 12 points and 10 rebounds, fell to 9-2.
