Boys and Girls Club of Paterson Prepared for Third Food Distribution Event

PATERSON, NJ – On Friday staff and volunteers of the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson & Passaic will once again be distributing food packets to residents of the communities they serve. Paterson residents are invited to pick up the packets between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. outside the clubhouse located at 264 21st Avenue.

TAPinto Paterson reported on the first effort on Friday 27 during which the organization distributed 500 “family essential packs” that included food items like oatmeal, canned vegetables, fruit, milk, and macaroni and cheese from their clubhouse on 21st Avenue. According to CEO Wendy Evans McGuire, volunteers served approximately 200 residents.

“I would estimate that those 500 food family packs served between 2,000 and 3,000 residents of the community.” McGuire said.  On April 12 an additional 3,000 food packets were distributed between the organization’s two sites.

All pick-ups will be on State Street with drivers advised to use Beckwith Avenue. In order to maintain social distancing no one should exit their vehicle, food will be brought to the car. Those walking to pick up should bring their own bags and also maintain social distancing.

The food is being provided by the Community Foodbank of New Jersey.
